Okay, so, how long does this shit usually last?

I don't really have any problem killing the target I was given. Actually, it'd almost be an act of mercy to end his miserable existence. But I'm also not really interested in playing human games. How good exactly are these so-called prizes?

[A. Here's Karkat down at the general store, looking in the garden supply section! That's nice, to see that despite his grumpiness, he's taken up an interest in gardening!

He seems to be taking a few practice garden swipes with a sickle.

B. Here's Karkat walking around town with his new purchase! He's giving everyone he sees suspicious glares. If you happen to look like a smug douchebag wearing sunglasses, he'll particularly give you a once over.

C. Here's Karkat suddenly stopping in the middle of the street and looking absolutely terrified! There doesn't seem to be anything there. Careful approaching him; he looks ready to strike at anyone.]

[Karkat sounds urgent and fairly terrified when he picks up the phone again a bit later.]

This is your leader speaking, so you better answer! You assholes are all still alive, aren't you?

We have a worse situation than any of this human bullshit, got it? None of you pan-addled idiots had the sense to tell me Gamzee was here. He's gone completely shithive maggots, and he's...and on top of that, we have Noir to deal with, and he'll definitely find us, so...

You fucking jackasses better not be dead!

[ About twenty minutes into that, she realizes abruptly that the shipping wall is covered in Karkat/Nepeta and that's not how she wants to admit it to him and oh noooooo. The brilliant idea of shoving her dresser in front of the wall seems a little less brilliant when you've got knife wounds to the waist and arm, and so Karkat is left standing out front for an extra minute while she scrambles to finish.

She opens the door for him a moment later, half-panicked by the thought that something got him while she was taking so long. The bandages on her arm are stained a familiar candy red. ]

Karkat!

[No, he looks completely fine, although extremely stressed out. He'd started to worry while she was taking so long that he'd gotten here too late.]

It took me forever to lose them.

Fuck, what happened to you?

[ Nepeta wilts a little at the mention of her injuries, but is quick to hurry him inside. 'Hurry' might not be the best word, though; she moves more gingerly than usual, and much more slowly. ]

I got in a little trouble last night, but I didn't want anyone to worry. It turned out okay.

Who's after you? Are they still coming? I have knives!

[Well, he'll get inside quickly himself, giving her a concerned but mostly grumpy glance over.]

It's Noir. He showed up in Mayfield somehow. Also, Gamzee's here now, and he's going around killing everyone. It's a long story.

But to make it short, fuck no you're not fighting them. We're going with the undignified but much better plan of hiding and hoping they don't find us.

Which one did you run into? Or was it part of this whole human madness?

[ It's fairly impressive that she's on her feet at all, though I guess Karkat knows all about shaking off stab wounds. ]

Gamzee? I thought he was a drone...

It was a human. I was kind of supposed to be hunting him, but he got away.

[ The last bit is a little more rushed and apologetic. Nepeta knows she probably should've mentioned something to someone before running off to kill a guy, but Equius would've said no -- and then it'd just be her fault when they hurt him. ]
