[After his conversation/ambiguous break up with Terezi, Karkat heads back to his own hive. He slams the door to his respite block, locks it, and doesn't come out or let anyone in until his lusus comes up to check on him and makes him move the dresser away from his door.

After that, if you want to come in and find him, he's sitting on his bed eating ice cream and watching troll Hitch on his husktop with Crabdad.]

...I guess. [the other things can wait, she supposes. then again, she's not really used to this sort of thing- Terezi doesn't really have close female friends. Vriska had been a partner-in-crime (sometimes literally, depending on your perspective) and Aradia had been a fairly good friend, but then she'd died and everything was weird. Nepeta was a roleplay partner, but one she'd never come particularly close to.

so it's sort of strange, the idea of talking this over with another girl, but it can't be a bad thing, right? and Jade is... well, she's an unrelated party, so it should be okay.]

Okay. [ and she smiles reassuringly, regardless of the fact Terezi can't see it, standing and guiding the girl to sit down on her bed because beds are where humans often have feelings jams.

she hesitates a moment, her next question a little uncertain. ]

[settling on the bed, she gives a tiny nod, then she tenses up in surprise.] How did you know?

[she goes pale. as pale as grey skin gets, anyway.] Gog, what did Karkat tell you?

Oh no, he didn't tell me anything! [ though she is sure she'll be talking about it with him before too long. ] I just, I'm a pretty good guesser.

[ yeah it was a completely out of left field guess too. all the way. ]

[fuck. should she even tell Jade? she doesn't even know what Jade has going on with Gamzee and she's suddenly aware that she might screw up whatever that is, too.] Um...

Gamzee. [Terezi begins making a pile of all the things on Jade's bed- her pillows, blanket, any stuffed animals. she wants a pile of something to sit in while she is sad, okay.]

Oh. [ She's sounding a little dejected but doesn't move anywhere, watches things start to pile up on her bed and maybe even contributes a little. ] So what happened?

... [oh she doesn't mind the patting either although dragons are clearly much too dignified for head patting!!!] I'm not sure why, but our sponges were falling out of our think pans and we might have made out a little and I'm pretty sure that is why Karkat has redirected his hate lasers onto me.

it does sting a little bit, but Jade knows all about makeouts under strange circumstances, and she is very understanding. ]

Duuurrrrr. [Terezi makes a face, but then she's a little serious again.] I think... [I almost made him cry and I don't know what to do.] He's probably going to stay pissed at me permanently.

[she gives a shaky, uneasy little laugh.] Ehehe, I'm pretty fucking pissed at myself, too. I'm not really sure how it happened. I mean, he's Gamzee. He is the equivalent of one of your little love-deprived Earth puppies.

I don't think he'll be pissed at you permanently! Maybe he just needs a little time.

Um, hehe, people can just do dumb things when they've been drinking! And Gamzee is... nice, anyway. So I can see why you would...

...No offense but there is not much about Gamzee that would normally make me want to jam my tongue down his protein chute. To be fair, I am sure it tastes like delicious grape jelly, but still. I think that's why Karkat has a right to be so pissed at me, because I can't even explain why it happened.

Oh, and it's okay if grape jelly is your thing. I won't be doing it again. That is part of some human girl code, right?

Uh- [ Jade might be turning a little red here. ] You're not really here to talk about me and Gamzee anyway, right?

Anyway I think Karkat might be being a little unfair to you, but maybe after he has some time to cool off you can try talking to him!

[there's a pained pause.] It's a little harder than that, I think. You are also using your human perspective with its ridiculously simplistic concept of relationships. I feel, [and she's absolutely certain it's still feel, not felt, even if she doesn't know whether or not Karkat feels the same] really strongly about him. I don't know if it's been explained to you! I guess I could, but if you couldn't already tell, I am apparently shit at this quadrants stuff, bluh.

Yeah. [a faint grin.] You know, I've never been flushed for anyone else. I don't even have a moirail. I never have. Karkat's just kind of... special.

You're not lame! You just made a mistake that wasn't even all your fault. If Karkat can't see that then he is really dumb!

He is not dumb at all! That's the thing... Karkat is smart! He... wasn't even surprised when I told him, like he'd expected me to do something like that. And maybe he's right.

[puts Jade's pillow over her head.] He would always get so angry and so jealous and so insecure! That is just what he does. I'm sure you've seen it, the way he just fuels his own self-loathing with those schizophrenic memos and headachey timeline-jumping. He would always get jealous and make sure I knew it, even when I wasn't trying to get a rise out of him. And all he was jealous of was really just Dave and I drawing together, but the dunkass just assumed we were bunping red feelings for each other.

And, I don't know. I kinda liked it. It sort of meant he gave a shit, so maybe I did try to make him jealous a little. So if he didn't trust me... It's not just because he's a self-hating freak, it's because I gave good reason not to.

[ but hmmm now she's given Jade something to think about. she falls quiet, idly patting the pillow over Terezi's face in a reassuring manner. she is no expert in relationships (though after learning that kissing someone does not mean you are dating them she feels like she understands considerably more) but that is not about to stop her from helping! ]

It might have been better to just tell him that instead of trying to make him show it by making him jealous. [ a little late for that advice though. ] Maybe if you told him the same thing you told me, he would understand more.

That might be true, but if you really are flushed for him than it's important, right? Besides, Karkat likes romance stuff, so he would probably like to talk about your romance too! Um...maybe not now, but in the future.
