[Action; 1338 Benny Road]

[After his conversation/ambiguous break up with Terezi, Karkat heads back to his own hive. He slams the door to his respite block, locks it, and doesn't come out or let anyone in until his lusus comes up to check on him and makes him move the dresser away from his door.

After that, if you want to come in and find him, he's sitting on his bed eating ice cream and watching troll Hitch on his husktop with Crabdad.]

What do you do if you need to switch hives? Is there a form to fill out or something?

...Oh. Well. I wound up with...

[fuck. should she even tell Jade? she doesn't even know what Jade has going on with Gamzee and she's suddenly aware that she might screw up whatever that is, too.] Um...

[ don't worry, it's not like Gamzee didn't make out with Tavros too... sob... ]

Gamzee. [Terezi begins making a pile of all the things on Jade's bed- her pillows, blanket, any stuffed animals. she wants a pile of something to sit in while she is sad, okay.]

Oh. [ She's sounding a little dejected but doesn't move anywhere, watches things start to pile up on her bed and maybe even contributes a little. ] So what happened?

[ Though she's got a hunch. Several hunches, even. ]

[buries herself in the pile and peers out at Jade with this face]

To be honest, I think it will maybe make you say 'Fuck no!' to this blossoming friendship. Maybe.

[ aww terezi baby. :c Jade sighs quietly, reaches out to pat Terezi's head reassuringly. ]

I promise it won't.

... [oh she doesn't mind the patting either although dragons are clearly much too dignified for head patting!!!] I'm not sure why, but our sponges were falling out of our think pans and we might have made out a little and I'm pretty sure that is why Karkat has redirected his hate lasers onto me.

it does sting a little bit, but Jade knows all about makeouts under strange circumstances, and she is very understanding. ]

Well, I can see why that would hurt his feelings.

Duuurrrrr. [Terezi makes a face, but then she's a little serious again.] I think... [I almost made him cry and I don't know what to do.] He's probably going to stay pissed at me permanently.

[she gives a shaky, uneasy little laugh.] Ehehe, I'm pretty fucking pissed at myself, too. I'm not really sure how it happened. I mean, he's Gamzee. He is the equivalent of one of your little love-deprived Earth puppies.

I don't think he'll be pissed at you permanently! Maybe he just needs a little time.

Um, hehe, people can just do dumb things when they've been drinking! And Gamzee is... nice, anyway. So I can see why you would...

...No offense but there is not much about Gamzee that would normally make me want to jam my tongue down his protein chute. To be fair, I am sure it tastes like delicious grape jelly, but still. I think that's why Karkat has a right to be so pissed at me, because I can't even explain why it happened.

Oh, and it's okay if grape jelly is your thing. I won't be doing it again. That is part of some human girl code, right?

Uh- [ Jade might be turning a little red here. ] You're not really here to talk about me and Gamzee anyway, right?

Anyway I think Karkat might be being a little unfair to you, but maybe after he has some time to cool off you can try talking to him!

[there's a pained pause.] It's a little harder than that, I think. You are also using your human perspective with its ridiculously simplistic concept of relationships. I feel, [and she's absolutely certain it's still feel, not felt, even if she doesn't know whether or not Karkat feels the same] really strongly about him. I don't know if it's been explained to you! I guess I could, but if you couldn't already tell, I am apparently shit at this quadrants stuff, bluh.

It's already been explained to me. [ She laughs quietly, a little forced. ] You mean you're flushed for him, right?

Yeah. [a faint grin.] You know, I've never been flushed for anyone else. I don't even have a moirail. I never have. Karkat's just kind of... special.

[aw isn't that cute so cute Terezi can be normal for once-] Also, his little nubby horns are so adorable, and trust me when I say that he is very delicious. [n...never mind]

So how lame do I even have to be to have messed up something like that. Jegus.

[ awwww that is really cute and Jade is just going to ignore the part about him being delicious so it can keep right on being cute and not weird. ]

You're not lame! You just made a mistake that wasn't even all your fault. If Karkat can't see that then he is really dumb!

He is not dumb at all! That's the thing... Karkat is smart! He... wasn't even surprised when I told him, like he'd expected me to do something like that. And maybe he's right.

[puts Jade's pillow over her head.] He would always get so angry and so jealous and so insecure! That is just what he does. I'm sure you've seen it, the way he just fuels his own self-loathing with those schizophrenic memos and headachey timeline-jumping. He would always get jealous and make sure I knew it, even when I wasn't trying to get a rise out of him. And all he was jealous of was really just Dave and I drawing together, but the dunkass just assumed we were bunping red feelings for each other.

And, I don't know. I kinda liked it. It sort of meant he gave a shit, so maybe I did try to make him jealous a little. So if he didn't trust me... It's not just because he's a self-hating freak, it's because I gave good reason not to.

I know exactly what you mean.

[ but hmmm now she's given Jade something to think about. she falls quiet, idly patting the pillow over Terezi's face in a reassuring manner. she is no expert in relationships (though after learning that kissing someone does not mean you are dating them she feels like she understands considerably more) but that is not about to stop her from helping! ]

It might have been better to just tell him that instead of trying to make him show it by making him jealous. [ a little late for that advice though. ] Maybe if you told him the same thing you told me, he would understand more.

[puts her head on Jade's lap shhh just go with it] Bluh. But he is so hard to talk to! We've never talked about these things. I don't think he wants to. I kind of don't want to.

That might be true, but if you really are flushed for him than it's important, right? Besides, Karkat likes romance stuff, so he would probably like to talk about your romance too! Um...maybe not now, but in the future.

Jade, [she actually grins now, widely, laughing] you should definitely know that he is all talk and no walk! He will stick his nubs in your metaphorical romance pie and force-feed romance advice right into your gullet, but when it comes to his own? Hahahahahahaha! He will give you advice-cake while sipping 'Gog-I-am-so-shy'-tea.

I think everything he knows about it comes from his stupid movies, anyway--

[she smiles fondly. her cheeks flush a faint teal.] -but it's okay. I like all that about him.

[ oh nooooo Jade is really starting to ship karkat/terezi it is so cute she cannot handle this. ]

You should tell him that.

[ that might not actually play out as adorably in real life as it is in her head but who cares. ]

...uhhhngh. I dunno if he'll even want to listen to me at this point, and...

[she's scared, is what she can't admit. scared that she's screwed this one up permanently. without Karkat, what is she going to do? she doesn't have a lot of friends. Karkat had been maybe-matesprit and best friend in one. thinking of never having anything to do with him ever again is a terribly lonely thought.]

I don't know, it might take a little work to actually get him to listen, but I think he will. You can't just give up, right?
