♋ PCG 13

[Action, 1338 Benny Road; Thursday afternoon]

[Well, Karkat intended to go to the Post Office as soon as the zombie threat was finished. But early the next morning, he was forced to go to school instead, so it's not until afterward that he's able to make it.

Finally, he manages to make it back to his hive with an unwieldy recuperacoon, only to be greeted by Jade's drone, even though she was fine just earlier that day. Between being stuck as a human again and finding out about that, he's in a bad mood, so he'll just be sitting on the couch channel flipping next to the recuperacoon and judging everything on TV.]

[Phone]

Guess what? I'm human again. Karkat, really? You're human? Wow, I didn't recognize you at all! How'd that happen? When are you going back to normal? What do you look like now? Wait, we've never met, but you're were a species other than human in the first place?

There, that's all out of the way. We can now returned to your regularly scheduled not giving a shit about this. Anyone who does decide to bother me about this subject will be ignored in the iciest fashion possible.

In much more important but equally beyond our ability to do anything about news, Harley is apparently panscrubbed. No, I don't know why or how long she'll be gone for.

((OOC: Karkat is human again, and will be until I say otherwise even if I use his troll icons. He looks pretty much the same only not grey with horns and with browner hair and brown eyes. Not red like in the icons, yeah.))

I don't actually know what things she's gotten back. I think she might have her fetch modus but I wouldn't know where to go about looking for it.

I haven't seen many cases of arbitrary droning where it's short, although supposedly it happens.

Well, I guess there is little to do about that then.

Neither have I, but I lack the experience to say so myself. Let us wait and see how the situation develops then.

Yeah, sure.

Okay, if you're actually serious about the whole 'I'm sorry I chainsaw slaughtered your friend' thing, answer me this.

Was it really all about not letting someone bitten inside? Or were you thinking about getting revenge for your own friend?

[Oh God Karkat Rose is really going to need a big apologize card doesn't she?]

I am serious.

I would be lying if I said Jade's death didn't have anything to do, but I would had done the same if she had been spared. Because sooner or later she wouldn't have, had Gamzee been allowed to stay while bitten.

Most of my motivation derived from that. I am truly sorry he had to die though. I hope this suffices...well, plus the written apology.

[He's quiet for a long time, and sighs.]

You know what?

I think I can accept that.

[Sighing on her own end of the line.]

Good, I wouldn't have liked to make an enemy out of you. Hopefully such a situation won't present itself so easily in the future.

[identity profile] crusthatecean.livejournal.com 2011-09-26 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
If you hadn't noticed, I'm not much of a threatening enemy. I pride myself on devastating personal insults but they've never worked well on your species.

I'm confident I wouldn't want to be your enemy, considering you're straight fucking shithive maggots, but I can't bring myself to care about you making what was objectively the right call.

And you admitted it wasn't all about that, so maybe you're not the calculating shrew beast I expected you to be.

Believe it or not, your position of leadership gives you more power than you have yet acknowledged. Which is perhaps why the rest of your kind is sol willing to follow at least some or your commands, when they easily ignore everyone else. Someone who can keep them under control makes an enemy I would rather not have.

...Is that a compliment?

[identity profile] crusthatecean.livejournal.com 2011-09-27 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be if I wasn't deeply skeptical about where you're getting this from. The mass of idiots is not easily manageable, even for someone with my formidable asshole managing skill set.

But thank you. I intended the shrew beast remark as a compliment, too.

There you have it; where others would surely fail, you barely manage to succeed.

[She means well, really.]

Then I'll take it as such. Unfortunately, I currently lack enough knowledge about you to properly compliment you.

[identity profile] crusthatecean.livejournal.com 2011-09-28 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, your backhanded half-compliments are enough for me.
