[Action; 1338 Benny Road]

[Karkat took his turn with the milk on the first day, to bring Jade back from kill drone state. He's been dealing with the after effects of the nasty poison that was inside ever since.

But today it was his turn again. He had been too sick the day before to prevent Jade from drinking her share, but this evening he prevented that from happening again by just refusing to go to sleep. Once he heard the milk delivery in the morning, he dragged his ass down to the front door to drink the bottle.

His housemates will find him still downstairs, holding the empty bottle of milk. He has the TV turned on to some infomercial for a groundbreaking new blender, and he's watching in fascination and horror.]

[Phone]

[Karkat's voice sounds hoarse and urgent when he picks up the phone to call Mayfield later that day.]

Okay.

Don't look now.

But the horrorterrors are right behind you.

Oh fuck! You unbelievable dumbass, I told you not to look!

[Action; Around Mayfield]

[Shortly after the phone call, Karkat wanders outside for a little bit, not really paying attention to where he's walking. He's carrying a paper towel roll curved in a way that looks vaguely like a sickle, and is swiping it randomly at the air from time to time.]

[Phone; Later]

[Much, much later that night, an extremely tired but lucid sounding Karkat makes a phone call once again.]

Wow. Uh.

So, I'm sure Jade and Gamzee didn't let me make any phone calls or anything earlier, right?

Just making sure about that.

Karkat?

[p...pats him on the back gently

it's gonna be okayFUCK TROLL ALLIE'S READING HIS LETTER but Terezi tells herself that she's got to keep her poker face on, patting Karkat's back reassuringly. or (unsure)ly.]

[Yeah, he's not paying attention to anything she's doing. He's not really the best person to watch movies with, especially ones he really likes.

But it's just so sad, especially since he knows how it ends since he's watched it hundreds of times.]

[she's about to comfort him more except there's a particularly silent scene so Terezi basically just ruins the entire moment.]

Wait! What's going on? It went all quiet. Karkat, what's happening! Describe it to me!

[pokes him repeatedly come on]

He...

[He's kind of choking on his words because of how beautiful this scene is.]

He built her a room...with a canvas...Terezi he built her a painting room just like he promised!

[long

pause.

Terezi clutches tightly at Karkat's arm, leaning against him. her expression is clearly emotional. this plot revelation has touched her deeply. she makes a sound like a sniffle, maybe.]

Did he make sure to give her some chalk to make art with too?

[Her comment on chalk makes him suddenly aware that she's sniffling, and he's almost never felt so flushed for her than he does at the revelation that she actually likes this movie. He turns to look at her through the movie magic induced tears and comes to a startling conclusion:

Their love is just like Noah and Allie's.

It's all been so obvious. And he's sure it's not just that he's being carried away by powerful cinematic emotion even if this is pretty similar to that unfortunate time he watched troll Good Luck Chuck with Gamzee. No, she likes to paint with chalk and their blood might keep them apart but he would definitely build her a house if it was to win her away from a smarmy cool kid fiancee or something like that.

He is absolutely certain about this, they will die and become birds together through the power of love. She's probably thinking the same thing right now.

He cups her chin with his hands and kisses her passionately and also wetly because he's still kind of crying.]

[Terezi is thinking that chalk would make a pretty great gift! If she were feeling all tired and weary and also walking around apparently wearing a blanket (not that she can see this particular detail about troll Allie), she would be totally happy to be given a room full of chalk and delicious vanilla white walls to paint upon.

But the truth is that this is what has made her emotional, not any particular plot revelation or the gale force strength of Noah and Allie's love. The movie does not touch her and dissolve her into a blubbering mess. She is actually pretty confused over why Noah and Allie didn't develop a kismessitude, but she has been sniffling because art is just such a great thing to give someone and also because she doesn't want Karkat to feel like much of a dumbass (even though she doubts he feels any shame over, well. Shaming himself).

But the feel of Karkat's lips on her own overwhelms any flushed thoughts she is having about jpeg artifacts and ushers them away like birds on the wind, flying into the sunset. No actually though, Terezi makes a sound of shock and kind of just freezes in place in a likely unappealing and not romantic at all manner.

But he tastes like tears and it is deliciously salty and wow she has never wanted cherry cough syrup more than she does right now.

Oh, and Karkat actually kissing her is kind of nice, too, even though a part of her realizes that it is because his emotional state has been worked up into a weepy sappy salty froth by the events of the movie.

You could almost call this makeout... sloppy.

Terezi is not going to let this opportunity pass her by because she has been waiting for this forever, so she leans in while she can, before Karkat inevitably comes to his senses once the movie ends and decides that this will never be spoken of again. She puts her arms around his neck and kisses him back sweetly. He is allowed to pretend that their love is just like a movie if it lets this last for a bit, ok.]

[Oh man part of him is a little surprised that this is actually going down, because things have been kind of awkward with them for a while now. But the other part of him is not surprised because this is how these things are supposed to go, it's just real life that gets awkward but that's no match for romance. If he was watching a movie of his life his commentary would be nothing but 'kiss her, you fool' although he would probably have turned it off by now because the protagonist is just too unlikable.

But he's wanted to kiss her again for a long time now and if it takes the Notebook to accomplish that, then that is just another way that this movie is the best movie ever except maybe for Hitch.

He kind of wants to keep watching it, except he knows how it ends so he can pretend for a bit that he doesn't know that she's making her choice and instead kiss this actual girl who he maybe likes even more than Ryan Gosling.]

[Yes, later she will totally thank troll Ryan Gosling for his magnificent acting and manly aura, along with his delicately discriminating choice of movie roles, picking only those worthy of the calibre of his acting. Truly, The Notebook is a rare treat, a treasure the likes of which will probably never occur again. Never in such a beautifully orchestrated sappy mess, anyway.

...Actually she's not thinking of any of those things, but if she cared about Ryan Gosling or this movie, she totally would.

In fact, the only thing she's really thinking of is Karkat and how much she had missed him. Not just when they'd been separated and wondering where the other was, but even when they'd been together lately, too. She had missed him, never fond of how awkward things had become, even though she always did her best to keep teasing him about it. And she knows he must have missed her, too, and maybe that's the part that makes her feel so elated- that nothing has really changed.

She is missing a whole bunch of the movie right now but who cares. Terezi certainly doesn't! No she's not breaking this off do you dare to even try her???? She has earned this ok, terrible movie enabling it or not. Her only regret is that she can't actually smell his cherry cough syrup blood.]

[He's missed her, too. He never knows what to do with her when she's there, he just gets angry or embarrassed and acts like an asshole, but when she's not there he always regrets that so much. He's just afraid of not being good enough. Just like Noah was. Yes, he's still thinking of the movie, too.

But not much. Not enough to consider stopping when it will probably take him another series of disasters, separations, and soppy love stories to give him the nerve to kiss her again.]

[Oh well she will keep with this while she can, because half the awkward is her own fault anyway for generally being terrible at things that involve actual feelings and don't involve pretend dragon roleplay and trolling.

One day they will probably be a little more mature than thoh who am I kidding.

She kicks the pillow onto the floor and settles on his lap so that even if he pulls away she'll get to trap him here and I don't know lick his face or something, just like in The Notebook, in a scene that never happened but could have happened if troll Allie was blind and also had a dragon lusus. An entire world of possibilities. These tears will go to good use.]

[Okay, he'll pretend that someone licking his tears away is a turn on and not just kind of horribly uncomfortable, but he's not planning on going anywhere, so I guess it's okay. He just wraps his arms around her waist and there are only so many things I can write about kissing, but they sure are kissing.]

Actually they are doing a great job of missing very critical(!!!!!) scenes in the movie but who cares.]

[That's okay he can explain to her later that Allie chooses Noah and her smarmy fiancee is brutally culled when he doesn't find a new matesprit in time, and that the degenerative elderly slated to be killed due to their failure to contribute to society were Allie and Noah all along.

This is almost certainly what she's worrying about right now, and he will reassure her.]

[Wow yes that's clearly what she's thinking about and thank gog she has Karkat to console her about it with sloppy makeouts. He can console her all she wants.

Shh only comfort now.]

[ Jade is still pretty out of it when she wanders back into the living room, and still migrating in her blanket cocoon, so when she sees the movie on and figures Karkat is probably crying by this point and maybe he wants some company.

It isn't until she plops herself down on the couch that she realizes oh, he already has company and oh, he's making out with his company.

See Karkat when you get emotional you just can't help this stuff. Did she tilt your chin too?

Well she's already there, and it's not like she wants to be rude, but haha no privacy for you Karkat deal with it.

Jade is actually staring at them right now, her eyes extra wide behind her glasses, not in shock or disgust but just sort of...regular staring. ]

[ She clears her throat. ]

[Karkat doesn't really notice her because he is in sloppy makeouts bliss. But it is kind of hard to ignore someone clearing their throat several feet away from you. He pulls away long enough to glance over at her, and then sits up with a start, trying to push Terezi to a more respectable distance but that's kind of hard to do with someone sitting on top of you.

But this is basically the worst situation possible; this whole having a person who wants to make out with you scenario is a fairly new and still very embarrassing one, not to mention the confusing relationship he has with Jade. Which, all things considered, it's probably a good thing she knows about Terezi now, he even told her back when he couldn't lie that he was sort of with someone, but that thought isn't helping right now. He's starting to blush bright red and also shaking a little with rage.]

Harley, holy shit! Has it ever occurred to you to maybe fucking knock?

[Yes, knock, to enter the living room of your own house...]

[Oh okay Karkat go ahead and shove the blind girl off of you. Terezi almost falls off of the couch but manages to catch her balance. The first thing she does is smack him upside the head.] What is your pr-

[OH WELL OKAY there's... someone else here isn't there... Terezi is met by disappointment then a faint twinge of annoyance, but she should've expected an interruption! Nothing ever goes right for them. Oh well. She puts on her typical grin.]

Is that the Jade human?

[Instead of sounding horrified or embarrassed or even angry like Karkat, Terezi manages to sound pretty delighted, if only because maybe it will make Karkat less angry! Maybe.] You're not interrupting anything, you know! Hahaha! We were just watching a movie.

[Well, Gamzee had been dozing off behind the couch this whole time - Karkat's movies have a tendency to put him under almost instantly - but all of the shouting has finally managed to wake him up. Sup guys, have a clown face suddenly pop up from behind the couch like some kind of awful horror movie.]

Whooooa, blindtits, when'd you all up and get here? Hahaha, we having some kinda motherfuckin' party?

What? [ Karkat's question doesn't quite register with her, and the same goes for his rage. ] Why would I...

[ There isn't even a door to knock on. Besides, it's not like he knocked, so let's not try to be giant hypocrites here. She leans forward to look over at Terezi, unable to identify her but still able to figure out who she is anyway. ]

That's me! And you're Terezi?

[ It doesn't really come out sounding like a question, because Jade's pretty sure she already knows. Even in her I died yesterday and feel like crap haze, she can put this together.

Oh yay and now Gamzee is here too. ]

Hi Gamzee. [ Scoooooching over towards Karkat and Terezi, because it is really unfair that they are all on the couch and there's no room for him. ] Do you want to watch this movie with us?

[ You guys weren't doing anything important right? :O ]

Yes! Let's enjoy this fucking movie together! Everyone, just pile around! Wow, Gamzee, didn't know you were there, but sure, go ahead, nap wherever the fuck you want and don't warn people you're sitting there! It's so fucking fantastic to share a hive with you considerate shitheads.

[Getting up and storming out of the room!]

[towards Jade, she smiles, wishing she could smell her. Jade would probably smell pretty good, she thinks.]

That's me!

[wait] Oh, hi, Gamz, where'd you come from? [she wasn't able to see Gamzee emerge from behind the couch like a clown-makeupped murderer, so his voice in such close proximity is confusing her. Terezi realizes that maybe... he's been there watching the whole time?

it wouldn't surprise her.

wow, creepy.

and Karkat is getting no less angry, so when he gets up she kind of falls to her side and looks a little dismayed. of course, she's disappointed too! but seeing him get angry about it is worse.]

Damn it, Karkat, do you always have to get all mad like this- well of course you do!

[bluh bluh she tries to follow and just... falls off the couch.

she decides to just lie there because this can't get any more sad and humiliating, and also because she wants to try licking the carpet.]
